A healthcare technology company

A healthcare technology company runs on cloud architecture we designed

We designed and built the cloud architecture behind a healthcare technology company’s platform, and keep strengthening it: tested database restores, layered backups, malware-protection review and plans for the next stage of its infrastructure.

Challenge

The company needed a cloud foundation for its platform that could grow with its users, stay secure with healthcare data, and keep running costs under control.

Solution

We designed the cloud architecture and set it up on AWS and Azure. After launch, we reviewed the setup with the client’s team and agreed a programme of improvements.

  • Backups: a weekly server image kept for two weeks, alongside the daily backup kept for three days, and new databases enrolled in the backup schedule automatically.
  • Restore, proven: a full database restore run in a controlled environment to check the procedure and its timing, written up as a step-by-step runbook for the client’s developers.
  • Malware protection: a review of protection tools to sit alongside the cloud provider’s own threat detection, with a written recommendation.
  • Planning the next stage: costed plans for moving the database to Linux, replacing a managed network gateway with a self-hosted one, and the overall design of a new infrastructure setup.

The design follows the way we set up cloud for every client: right-sized from the start, monitored, and documented so the client’s own team can run it.

Where It Stands

The setup is in production: the client’s platform runs on it every day.
